Go JAZZ Go
I just thought that this was a pretty neat video and wanted to share it...
Next item of business....
I was so mad at the Jazz last night that when I went to bed, I was dreaming about it! They seriously went into this game thinking they had it... I do have to say that I blame part of that on the media. They have been talking about a sweep ever since they beat Houston on Sunday.
But the Jazz never came to play basketball last night. They were also horrible at the line... Houston had a better percentage... that is bad. They had some really dumb calls in the 4th quarter, and Deron Williams who usually is not a ball hog, kept the ball and tried to shoot it when he could have passed it to Boozer who was wide open under the basket and had the win. And who thought of putting the fans in white t-shirts... dumb if you ask me!
Needless to say they lost by 2 and their hopes of a sweep are gone. Saturdays game is going to be really good... so you know where I will be... watching the game!

April Showers!
BOY! Is April over? I cannot wait until I can finally sit down and relax.
I went to the dr. today, everything looks good. The baby is growing and his heart beat is regualr. Me on the other hand... I have high blood pressure, protein in my urine and I am lacking iron. I promised the dr. that the next time she saw me, in two weeks, that my blood pressure would be down. She told me to remember to make time for myself everyday and to try to eliminate stress... hahahaha
This past week was Bret's birthday. I didn't really do all that much for him, mostly because he said that he didn't want anything or anyone to know it was his birthday. I took cupcakes into his work, and to Red Lobster for dinner. Other than that he got two pairs of shorts, a candle breeze, tiger woods golf for the wii, and a new BYU hat. On Saturday we had a BBQ with our families to celebrate and to give him a day off from the stress of the end of the semester.
Saturday night when we got home, around 11, we saw that our neighbors were having a party. You could barely even drive up the street there were so many cars. When we got to our driveway we noticed that someone had parked in front of our driveway so that we couldnt pull in. SO irritated I decided I was going to go over there and tell them what I thought about them parking there (honestly who is dumb enough to do something like that) and to go move their car so I could unload my car and put McKinley and myself to bed. As I got out of the car, I could here kids screaming, and loud Mexican music blaring. I turned the corner and saw a big blowup bouncy thing for the kids... all of which were still awake and playing in it. Corona bottles were all over the lawn and everyone there was speaking Spanish. I knew at that point that even if I could get someone to talk to me, they wouldn't understand or pretend to not understand what I was saying. So instead we parked clear down the street and then called the cops. We waited 3 hours before the cops finally showed up. Their music was still blaring, the kids were out playing Marco Polo and Bret and I were still awake. All the cop did was tell the guy to go move his car, no turn down the radio, put your kids to bed, here is a ticket for being dumb and parking in front of someones driveway, party is over... just a go move your car. The music didn't stop until around 5 in the morning. Then 2 and a half hours later Kinney woke up. I kept trying to think of vindictive ways to get my neighbors back. Go mow my lawn, blast church music, set up a fog horn to go off in their bushes until they found it to make it stop. All of which I desperately wanted to do, the only thing stopping me was the fact that it was Sunday and it reminded me that I needed to remember to be Christian about it. But seriously why is it that we always have to be the nice ones? I want to be the mean one sometimes!!! Its the beginning of the summer so I am sure that I will have more blogs venting about my neighbors and their parties. Any suggestions on how to deal?

McKinley McKinley McKinley
It has been such a long time since I wrote anything about McKinley. I thought that I would take a minute to write about the cute things that she is doing. She is almost 14 months already... its so crazy for me to even think about it!
My mom thinks that she needs to be walking, although I am totally fine with the fact that she isn't yet. She stands by herself and she walks around furniture, and does take about 4-8 steps without any help but other than that she isn't really all that interested in it. As long as she is walking by July, its all good.
She loves pulling things in and out of any box or bowl. She has a favorite cupboard that she pulls all my pots and pans out of in the kitchen. She is so little that she fits in the pots. Its funny to watch her because she thinks that she is pretty neat getting in and out of them.
Her toy bin would be her next favorite place to crawl in and out of. She will take out all her toys and then climb in the bucket then try to get all her toys back in with her. All of her toys that make noise go off and she then dances and claps her hands. It seriously is a crack up!
She loves outside, its just too bad that Utah's weather is so crazy! When it was warm out we would go for a walk in the morning and then we would get a blanket and play with her toys outside in the afternoon. The first time it snowed again after it was nice out, she stood by our front window and would point and grunt. It was very sad. But I'm glad that this weekend it will finally start to get warmer, she will be SO happy.
She absolutely loves her grandparents. I know the reason why... they give her everything that mom and dad don't. McKinley and my dad are buds. Its so funny to see them together... although I don't know who is more fun to watch, her or my dad. I went to my dads work one day and in one of the rooms, they have a wall with everyone that works there pictures. She was looking at the wall and pointed to my dad's picture smiled at me and then nodded her head yes. It was very cute!!
McKinley is a GREAT sleeper!!! I honestly have to say that for a while, I thought that the early mornings where never going to go away. But since January she usually sleeps until about 9-10. (this morning is an exception, shes been up since 5) Then she takes at least another 2-3 hours nap in the afternoon. I hope it stays that way for a while, it nice to have that time to get work done and my house cleaned.
Other fun facts or firsts....

IPOD mistake
When Bret and I first got married one of our biggest purchases was two new ipods. At the time they were the newest and the nicest, but like many electronics, they are now out of date. About 6 months after our purchase Apple came out with the video ipod and surprisingly we won at one of Bret's work parties.
Since there were only two of us and we owned 3 ipods we promised Jayson, my bro in law, that if he had 2 sacks (sacking the Quarterback) in each one of his games, we would give him an ipod. Now to me that sounded almost impossible, but he did it and we gave him one of our ipods. Since that time, it has been thrown against the ground and broken into about 80 different pieces because he got frustrated with it one day. This did not go over well with me... but after all it was a gift and there wasn't much at that point that we could do about it.
Since I have been home with McKinley, I never use my ipod, Bret has his and when we go on vacation or somewhere in the car we always just plug his into the stereo. When we clean the house, we use his or I just turn on the computer and listen to the songs in itunes. So when Spence came to me and said he'd give me $100 for it, I was sold. We got the ipod up and running and plugged it into the computer so it would upload all the new songs. It seriously took all day! Anyway, when he was leaving I couldnt find the charger and I told him that he would have to wait until I could find it in order for him to charge it. He also knew that if you plugged it into the computer that it charged. My parents have 1 computer that is ancient, got a virus and died, but my dad has since tried to bring this dinosaur back to life and it has been working for a few days now. Spence in his anticipation to be able to listen to his ipod, plugged it into my parents computer. It has not ever worked since. It wont charge, it wont download, it wont do anything. So I called Apple and they said chances are the hard-drive crashed and that it will be around $200 to fix!

Like Carver???
Bret and I are having a really hard time coming up with a name for our little guy. I sat down the other day and realized that I only have 12 weeks left and that its time to get serious about picking out a name. We have been through an entire baby name book that has over 100,000 names and we still cannot find one that just sticks.
With McKinley, it was very different. We loved the name Payton... that is what we were going to name her until everyone else started telling us why we shouldn't name her that. Mostly the older generation because of Payton's Place... I had never even heard of it until then. And I still don't have a real understanding of what it is, at least with a good enough explanation on why no one should name their child Payton. Anyway, I was more irritated that everyone thought that they would have a say in what we decided to name our child then anything. So we bought the baby name book, that is where we found McKinley. It just stuck. I loved it, Bret really loved it (he served his mission in Alaska... mount McKinley) and so from that day on we had her name and we were not going to tell anyone what it was until she was here. She was our child and we were picking her name without the peanut gallery telling us what they thought. Once she was here, No one could tell us they didn't like it with out being really rude. We had decided that is what we were going to do with every name we chose, it was just easier that way.
So our biggest delemia with this one is that we started out with a great name... and we cant seem to find that great name for the next one. Everything that I like Bret doesn't, everything Bret likes, I don't. Its quite frustrating.
Well, the other night we were watching the Jazz game and because everyone on the team had the flu, they had a bunch of the bench guys starting. Kyle Korver, the new guy they traded Girechck for that looks like Ashton Kucher, was doing really well and the more they said his name, the more I liked it. I turned to Bret to see what he thought, he too in return liked the name Korver. I was really excited about the fact we finally agreed on a name. And was happy with the name we had just chosen for our son. I was hooked and so was Bret, until...
we went to his parents house and he asked them what they thought of the name. Now this totally defeats the purpose of choosing a name and not telling anyone because you don't want to know what they think about it. And for those of you who don't know my mother in law, she tells you what she thinks about everything even if you don't ask. So the less she knows sometimes, the better. Other then her saying "like carver???... I like the name Atikis" now everytime we see them, she comes up with a new name. Non of which we like.
Since Bret told his parents I decided to run it past my parents (you can never tell one set of parents and not the other) my mom in return said "like carver???? He is your baby, you should name your own children, it shouldn't matter what I think"
Now, because I know what our parents think of the name, I am having my doubts. But I still really like it. So I am letting everyone who happens to read this extremely long blog know how frustrated I am with picking out a name for our little one. I am up for suggestions on names and comments on the name Korver too.
